Greyson Chance accepts his CCTV MTV award in Beijing China

You may remember that Greyson Chance was in Beijing China last month to accept the CCTV/MTV award for “Best New International Artist”.

Up until now, we have only seen medium quality snippets of video of Greyson’s acceptance speech and performance of "Sunshine & City Lights" with musician Michael Warren.

Now that the awards show has been officially broadcast throughout China, the HD version of Greyson’s part of the show has made its way to China’s equivalent of YouTube.

While Greyson Chance was in Beijing last week winning his “Best New International Artist Award” and performing for almost 1 billion TV viewers, he also took some time to sit down with MTV for an in depth interview.

Greyson Chance performs "Sunshine & City Lights" in Beijing

Greyson Chance won the CCTV/MTV Mandarin Music Festival’s “Most Popular New International Artist of the Year Award" Tuesday night in Beijing China during a nationally televised broadcast to almost one billion people!

Soon after the broadcast Greyson took to his official Weibo account to tell his fans,

“Oh my goodness! I won an MTV Mandarin award! Thank you so much MTV and CCTV. Truly an honor to be here.”

This was Greyson’s first trip to Beijing and his first award from the popular MTV Music Festival.

Greyson Chance took a grueling 15 hour flight over the weekend to Beijing China so he and his current band mate Michael Warren could attend the MTV Mandarin Awards Tuesday night.

But the first objective after landing was sleep, and Greyson took to his official Weibo account to tell his Chinese fans,

“Just arrived in Beijing! After sleeping for 12 hours I am ready for the day (: Here we go!!!”

And go he did. Greyson visited Hit FM Radio China for an interview, and then did more press for newspapers, magazines, and anybody else that wanted a few minutes with the young music maker.

Greyson arrives in China last month for showcase promotions

Greyson Chance is traveling to Beijing China this weekend with his guitar player and producer Michael Warren to perform his new song “Sunshine & City Lights” for the MTV CCTV Mandarin Music Awards.

This will be the first time Greyson has performed “Sunshine & City Lights” on a nationally televised network show.
