Original Post:
If there is one thing we have done since starting the Greyson Chance Universe project it is to try and support Greyson, his fan base, his music, and his career.
We have worked hard to bring news, updates, rare photos, unseen videos, and behind the scenes information not available to other bloggers.
We have followed Greyson since his days on Ellen, the promo tours with Cody Simpson and Miranda Cosgrove, his many trips through Asia, and the release of his latest EP “Truth Be Told Part 1”.
But since Greyson announced his departure from his record label, Interscope, it seems that he has turned away from his fans and has made little, if any attempt to let them know his plans for the future.
Not that Greyson owes anything to any of us, and we realize that it may not be the proper time or place for him to divulge the inner workings of his remaining management team or pending deals, but he has been silent about his future since late last year.
“Truth Be Told Part 1” was to be released into the U.S. markets in January and that time has come and gone with no word from anybody about what is going on.
Without a record label, his fans are questioning if the U.S. will EVER see the EP – much less the follow up “Truth Be Told Part 2” or new promotional tours.
His fans are starting to sense this lapse of information as bad news and are wondering if things are grinding to a halt.
In one sense we are pleased that Greyson parted ways with Interscope because none of his fans thought they were doing him any favors by shelving him throughout 2012 and not providing him any meaningful marketing or promotional assistance within the United States.
But ever since Greyson left Interscope, fans have been expecting some type of news about where he was going from here, and how he was going to overcome this setback and forge ahead with his U.S. releases, new albums, future promotional tours, and plans for his future music career.
In the absence of ANY news from Greyson, many are starting to suspect that his career may have reached the end, or perhaps he is taking a break to finish school or just spending time being a teenager.
For many fans, no news is starting to sound like bad news…
So, here is our plea and open letter to Greyson:
Greyson, it’s hard enough for a new artist to build a fan base – but it’s even harder to get them back once they leave out of frustration.
All we have to do is watch our Twitter timeline to see that there is an ever increasing amount of frustration regarding the lack of news and information since you left Interscope.
You MUST address your fans – even if it is bad news.
They will support you. We will support you. But you need to keep them in the loop.
A simple Spreecast, blog post, or informal video to explain your transition from Interscope and your future plans would go a LONG way in helping.
Even if you can’t tell us anything then just tell us you can’t say anything…
If you are taking a break then just tell us and we will support you…
If it’s over then just tell us and we will understand…
You might be surprised how much your U.S. fans love you and will support you. But if you just fade away and don’t say anything you will sow the seeds of anger and lose them forever.
Greyson, we know you will probably hear about this post or see our Twitter feed, so please take a minute and consider addressing your fans to bring us up to date on things.
We miss you and are worried about you.
With love,
The Ninja Crew at GCU

More than anything, I fear that Greyson's career could end within the next year if he kept at it like this. That scares me way too much than it should. Dear god Greyson, PLEASE TELL US YOU'RE COMING BACK DEAR, PLEASE.
ReplyDeleteVery very well said. I'm just tired of the US gettingg nothing after waiting so long but what scares me more is wondering where Greyson's career is going
ReplyDeleteI hope Greyson will be able to take a minute or so to read this
ReplyDeleteIt shouldn't end just like this... I mean many of his enchancers are still here to support him... It's very mournful to see this...
ReplyDeleteNo matter whaf happens I will alway support him. So I'm an Enchancer from Italy. What I must say. He never has come to Italy and that's terrible to the European Enchancers too :'( I really hope that one day I can see one of his concert...I don't give up. I here to support him. #EnchancerForever
ReplyDeleteNot just his U.S fans , I'm from malasyia and many enchancers from asia also worried about him . No matter what happen , I'll support him and never leave this fanbase
ReplyDeleteALL FANS ARE WORRIED ABOUT HIM, to clear things up.
